The Magic Oasis!

NOTE: Do to unexpected conditions Ring 50 will NOT be having the Magic Oasis on Friday & Saturday. Those attending the convention should seek out lunch and/or dinner at near-by restaurants. However there will be limited snacks (various chips), soft drinks, and water available at the Registration Desk for a small cost.
In between lectures? Already visited the Dealer Room? Hungry for food and more magic? Visit the Magic Oasis! This is a place where you can go during those down times - in between lectures, close-up shows, and visits to the dealer room. You can go there to grab some snacks and drink, sit and watch old and new magic performance videos on our flat-screen TV, hop on the computer to blog and tweet, and demo, share, and learn from other magicians such as yourself.

Hungry for real food during the convention? Afraid to leave and miss something? You no longer have to leave the convention to get something good to eat. We will be serving food during the Saturday Lunch and Dinner break in the Magic Oasis (check the schedule for times). Stop at the registration desk and pick-up a lunch and dinner menu. Select what you want from the menu, drop it off at the registration desk, and purchase your lunch and/or dinner ticket (prices will be announced shortly). All other times we will be serving snacks and drinks (pay your server as your order).

Where is the Magic Oasis? It will be in the upstairs atrium area of the high school. Just look for the signs as you walk in the school entrance near the registration desk. It's No Mirage!

Great Location

Once again for 2013, we have secured
Bishop Ireton High School
201 Cambridge Road, Alexandria, VA 22314.
Map and Directions
Bishop Ireton has easy access via highways and Metro Rail, abundant free parking, a large exhibit hall with a stage for the dealer show, class rooms for breakout sessions, and a large room perfect for lectures (with live video for close-up demos). The high school is walking distance from numerous restaurants of every sort, from fast food to fine dining.
Auditorium
But the best feature of this wonderful location is the 783-seat Whaley Auditorium, a full theatre to accommodate nearly any professional act. We are fortunate to have an excellent working relationship with the BI theatre department, and for years their students have done a superb job as tech crew for IBM Ring 50 events, including Magi-Whirl.
